Absences

Any emergency school closures will be reported on the Hampshire School Closures Website

Contact Information
The school office is open from 8:45am to 3:30pm and can be contacted by telephone on 01252 543348.

Please follow the yellow signs to the school office. From the Fernhill Road gate, walk along the side of the School, turn right around the building and then left when you reach the end of the blue fencing. Use the door entry system (on the side of the main doors) to contact the office who will then give access to the building.

Please note there is no facility for parents to park on site (staff cars only). If you have a disability please phone the school office to make arrangements. Minimal parking exists to the front and rear of the school and the surrounding roads are frequently patrolled by parking wardens. As a healthy school we encourage children to walk part or all of the way to school.

School Security
At Manor Infant School we are committed to keeping our children and adults safe. The school has a secure entry system both on the main gate into the car park, the pedestrian entrance in Fernhill Road and the school doors plus CCTV cameras situated around the site.

If you are visiting our school you can help by:

  • Buzzing for entry at the school office, signing in the visitor’s book and wearing a visitor badge/sticker.
  • If you are the last person through the gates please close them.
  • If you are entering the school during the day please use the main entrance on Fernhill Road.

Reporting an absence
A child's absence from school must be reported on the first morning either:

Unfortunately our mobile telephone number is no longer available.

When your child is well enough to return to school, please inform the teacher in writing confirming the reason for absence.

Please ensure pupils remain at home for 48 hours after an episode of sickness or diarrhoea. For advice on whether your child is well enough to attend school, please check the recent information we have received from the NHS.

Lateness
Parents should inform the school in advance if they know their child will be arriving late at school. If a school dinner is required it must be ordered before 10:00am. School starts at 8:55am, any child arriving at school after this time should be taken round to the school office and signed in by a parent/guardian.

School finishes at 3:10pm. In the unlikely event that you are unable to collect your child on time, it is essential that you telephone the school office by 3:10pm on 01252 543348. Please do not email us as we cannot guarantee the email will be received and read in time.

If you need to arrange for someone else to collect your child, the school needs to be notified either by telephone or in person. If possible, please introduce the person to the class teacher.
