Special Educational Needs

Manor Infant School is a mainstream setting.

At Manor Infant School we believe that all children should be fully integrated into the life of the school. We believe all children are entitled to have access to a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum and the right to contribute their views. We believe parents should be given the opportunity to be active partners in their child’s education.

On joining the school a transition meeting will be arranged if appropriate, inviting parents, children if appropriate, previous teachers or pre-school and any specialists involved in provision, in order that we may build on children’s previous experience, knowledge, understanding and skills. Children may be invited to introductory meetings to meet their teacher and other pupils to become familiar with the environment. Outside agencies may also be consulted to ensure will that everything is in place to ensure a smooth transition with minimum disruption for the child.
