Physical Development
In our spacious outdoor learning area, the children have many opportunities to develop their fine and gross motor skills. They can do this through using the bikes, scooters, hoppers and stilts as well as constructing and climbing on different apparatus. We are lucky enough to have our own 'extra area' where the children can dig in the mud, build dens and create their own obstacle courses using tyres and planks.
Through our PE lessons the children learn to throw, catch, roll and dribble with balls and how to take turns in team games. We also teach basic gymnastic skills where they learn to climb, move and balance on different pieces of apparatus.
During these physical activity experiences the children are taught the importance of exercise and a healthy lifestyle.
