Outdoor Learning

Being outside allows children to express themselves freely and unlike an indoor classroom, there aren't any space constraints meaning children can jump, shout and explore to their hearts content. The sense of freedom playing outdoors brings is fantastic for a child's development, both physically and mentally. We are very lucky to have three outside areas for our children.

  • Stretch area - this is used primarily for gross motor activities such as bikes, scooters and ball games.
  • Prime area - used for construction, building, role play, music and drama alongside literacy and maths activities.
  • Muddy area - used for digging, gardening, water play in a natural environment.

We have free flow access to our outside areas. Our classroom doors are open at 09.30am and close at 2.30pm daily...whatever the weather or season!
