Manor Infant School - Ofsted Report July 2026

Letter sent to Parents/Carers on 15 September 2026:

Dear Parents and Carers

Please find enclosed a copy of the Ofsted Final Report, from the Manor Infant School inspection on 7th & 8th July 2026.  The full report will be published on the OFSTED website on 18th September 2026.  However, we are permitted to inform parents and carers of the outcome in advance.

We are delighted that inspectors concluded that we met the “Expected Standard” in all seven areas of our inspection. To arrive at this conclusion, inspectors observed lessons, spoke with governors, senior and middle leaders, class teachers and pupils about all aspects of the school, including the learning that takes place.

As a school community, we know how much work has been undertaken since the last inspection and it is really pleasing that the inspectors also saw this.

Whilst you can read the report in full at your leisure, we wanted to highlight a few points from the report:

The inspectors found that “the school’s safeguarding arrangements are effective”.

The inspectors recognised that “Behaviour across the school is calm and orderly, and continues to improve. This supports a positive learning environment. The new behaviour policy is having a positive impact, and the school’s rules and values are increasingly embedded.”

The inspectors also recognised that “Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities receive appropriate support to access the curriculum successfully.”

The inspectors highlighted that “Leaders have created an inclusive school where pupils’ needs are understood and supported well. Staff know pupils very well and are vigilant in identifying emerging needs.”

Inspectors spent time with pupils during their time with us a the pupils feedback is included in the report.  Inspectors reported that “Pupils enjoy attending this inclusive school. They feel safe, valued and part of a caring community. Pupils are greeted warmly by staff who know them well and build positive, trusting relationships. Pupils say they always have someone to talk to if they are worried and are confident that adults will listen and help. As a result, pupils feel happy, secure and ready to learn.”

There are three key next steps that inspectors highlighted for us to work on and these are:

  • Leaders should ensure that recent curriculum developments are implemented consistently across all subjects and year groups, so that all pupils build secure knowledge and skills over time.
  • Leaders should continue to strengthen achievement in writing and sustain recent improvements across the curriculum, so that all pupils, including those who are disadvantaged and pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, achieve consistently well.
  • Governors should continue to develop their knowledge and strategic oversight of impact, strengthening their evaluation of leaders’ work so that challenge is focused sharply on securing the best possible outcomes for pupils.

We continue as a school with the ambition that “pupils will achieve well and become independent, lifelong learners”.

Yours faithfully

Mrs C Findlay - Headteacher

Miss S Parsons - Chair of Governors
