This half term Year 2 will be recapping the following Phase 5 sounds and then moving onto the spelling patterns for these sounds. Please help your child at home to learn them.

Can they think of words containing the sounds in them?
Can they read a story and find words where the sounds have been used?
Week 2 - ay, ou, ie, ea and oy
Week 3 - ir, ue (oo), ue (yoo), aw and wh
Week 4 - ph, ew (yoo), ew (oo), oe and au
Week 5 - ey, a_e, e_e, i_e, o_e, u_e (oo) and u_e (yoo)
Can they spell words with the sounds below using the different spelling patterns?
Can they read a story and find words where the different spelling patterns have been used for the same sound?
Week 6 - ay, ee, ie, oa, ue, au and ou
Week 7 - oy, ir, wh and ph
